Strategic Governance Board
The PCC and Chief Constable hold a quarterly meeting, attended by chief officers from both organisations, known as the Strategic Governance Board.
Held in private, but with decisions published below, the meetings enable the PCC to exercise his statutory functions, making decisions relating to strategic direction, policy issues and medium/long-term planning. It also provides a regular structured opportunity for the PCC and Chief Constable to brief one another and discuss any pertinent issues.
The first Strategic Governance Board took place on 22 September 2016, and were held monthly thereafter, moving to bi-monthly at the start of 2022 and then quarterly at the start of 2023. The latest Strategic Governance Board Meeting that was scheduled to take place on Tuesday 23 January 2024 has been postponed until further notice at the request of the PCC.
