A message from Sarah Taylor

"You may have seen the letter that I sent to the Rt. Hon. Keir Starmer yesterday, in his capacity as both Prime Minister and the Leader of The Labour Party. In that letter, I set out my fundamental concerns regarding the actions of the Labour government over my term to date. In that letter I resign my membership of The Labour Party.

"I remain completely committed to serving the people of Norfolk as the Police and Crime Commissioner and will now do so as an Independent with no party affiliation.

"The vital work of talking with and listening to the public across the county will continue, as will the important business of holding the police to account on your behalf. My office will also continue the work that has already started to make sure that the transition from a standalone PCC to the new Mayor’s office is successful."
